"I’ve been following fosterdadflipper on Instagram for a while and have enjoyed the love and parenting skills he demonstrates, and the fact that he’s such a wonderful advocate for fostering children. Peter’s story blew me away. It’s definitely one to read if you think you’re having a bad day, because he had survived terrible experiences, and yet has drawn on those experiences to truly empathize with and understand the trauma of others at a deep level. Peter, you’re an inspiration to us all.”

"I became intrigued by Peter Mutabazi even though I never had kids and have nothing in common with him. I care about human beings, and especially about human beings, including children, in need of help, love, and support. This book is excellently written and tells Peter’s story of survival and achievement against seemingly impossible odds.”

"Peter is a shining light of humanity as well as a kind, loving, patient, stable, and exemplary father figure for children in the foster care system. This book should be read by everyone concerned about abused or neglected children in this world and those who care about what some children have to go through in their lives to survive. It should actually be read by everyone. It is an amazing story of a little boy in Uganda who became the beacon he is today in extending loving care to foster children in a system in the United States that so badly needs more like Peter. Buy and read this book to help restore your faith in humanity.”

"I couldn’t put this book down, I first went to Uganda in 2003 and got married in Kampala. So reading this brought back huge memories of the city, the bus station, the huge buses and the people. But more than anything in 2003 when I saw the street kids in the traffic my heart broke for them. They made a huge impact on my life and made me the person I am today making sure I donate to charity both possessions and money, and also being kind to people no matter of their circumstances or background. Peters story was both sad and inspirational, his resilience and drive to keep pushing himself and also help and make a difference to others is amazing. The book really binds an emotional journey with the reader and also evokes thoughts and feelings you can relate too as a human. Highly recommend as a read”

"An excellent apologetic for fostering children! This book tells the author’s story from living in desperate poverty to being welcomed into a home, given a chance at an education, and eventually becoming heavily involved in the foster care system. The story is moving and a true page-turner. It moves along quickly and is fascinating. His message is summed up in the title: You are known, you are loved, and you are valuable. Well worth the read, but prepare to have your heart challenged and changed.”

"Peter Mutabazi shares his story, his childhood hardships, his tenacious spirit, his passion for advocacy with all of us in Now I Am Known. His dedication and commitment to the health of a child is clear but his story shows commitment to any relationship, cheering on anyone he meets (including me, the reader!) so they don't feel alone. Chapter after chapter, it's remarkable how Peter speaks to topics such as love, hope, forgiveness and charity, even in the story of how his mother, his friends, and his foster family never gave up on him. When the world can feel like a tough place to exist, Peter helps readers find the best in themselves. As a modern-day, true story of love, redemption, and perseverance, this is a must-read for everyone, including my teenage son. Just buying the book is helping the author care for others and creates a ripple effect of goodness in the community--in big and small ways. Peter helps us see that every encounter with another human is an opportunity to impact a life for the better. I'd give this 100 stars if I could.”
